From a single carefully selected clone out of microprop.
Nepenthes talangensis is endemic to Sumatra, where it grows in upper montane forest at elevations of 1,800–2,500 m above sea level. The specific epithet talangensis is derived from the name of Mount Talang, to which it is endemic, and the Latin ending -ensis, meaning "from".
This clone was chosen for it's exceptional vigor, as well as being typical of the species. The deeply inset peristome is usually a solid deep red, contrasting with the red and green speckled pitcher body.
